Solid wood worktops give kitchens an edge
Solid timber worktops in a wide variety of popular species and sizes are now available from Geaves Surface Solutions, a leading supplier of furniture and shopfitting components, including cabinet doors, high pressure laminates, melamine-faced panels and wrapped profiles.
The new laminated timber worktops possess the kind of looks, quality and warmth that add an impressive new dimension to any kitchen. Among the species of wood used for these tops are oak, beech, iroko, maple, rustic beech, limba and European walnut.
Standard dimensions generally range from 2500 x 900mm to 4100 x 650mm. Most of these worktops are 40mm thickness; beech and iroko versions are also available in larger dimensions.
Special sizes can be made to order.
All Geaves’ worktops are air-dried and pre-sanded. Moisture content is no more than 12 per cent, and typically 10 per cent. Each panel is individually wrapped. As a further precaution ends are wax-sealed to avoid ingress of moisture to the end grain.
Quality is an overriding consideration. All panels are produced to D3 EN 204 standard. The glue used in the production of these tops is Multibond E2-1.
